Synopsis

Santa Montefiore's involving and dramatic novel The Butterfly Box opens in Vina del Mar, Chile, in the sweltering Summer of 1982. Frederica Campione adores her father. When he gives her a magical box from Peru she believes he will always be there for her. Yet, when her parents' marriage falls apart, she is forced to move to Cornwall with her mother - the butterfly box is the only part of her father she can take with her.

Reviews and Press Quotes

Daily Mail

“Santa is the new Rosamunde Pilcher... a classic romantic tale - thwarted love, exotic locations and lifestyles of the rich and famous.”

Independent on Sunday

“Sometimes a fictional work can reveal the truth... once read, it is not easily forgotten - and shouldn't be.”

Sunday Times

“Delicious escapism.”

Telegraph Magazine

“A kind of Anglo-Argentine Dynasty, with lots of smouldering Latin boys swinging their polo mallets about... very readable”
