Synopsis
Pathologist Karys Harper particularly dislikes examining murder victims. Unfortunately for her, in this particular case, that's exactly what she's doing. What puzzles her is the nature of the body's injuries. Although the man died from strangulation, there's a surgical incision in his groin, an incision that was made after he was dead, and then sewn up.
As she investigates, Karys senses the killer's macabre delight in completing the task, and that the body was intended to be found and identified quickly. Still more chilling, amongst the deliberate clues left behind by the murderer is the possibility that this is merely the first victim.
