A Scot from Dundee who began her acting career at Glasgow Citizens Theatre and in Radio Drama in Scotland and London, Pamela Donald's first West End appearance was as the cockney Daphne Pink in Watch It Sailor. After its two year run, she returned to her native Scotland as A presenter for Scottish Television. She anchored the Granada television news for a time before being spotted on screen by the controller of BBC 2 who offered her the job of being the first woman on BBC 2, presenting Late Night Line Up.
She was a BBC correspondent in the Middle East for ten years and added a new string to her bow upon returning to the UK by writing eight books on household economy, gardening, cooking and horses, her great passion.
Despite her many faceted talents she remains a figure of fun to her family and large collection of animals.
